This beautiful art glass vase, shaped like a blooming flower with a deep blue color and white streaks and specs throughout, is an early 1995 piece hand crafted by important Finnish glass blower, Tarmo Maaronen.

Measures approximately 9.25" tall and weighs 2.5 pounds.
Condition is very good with a very tiny rough spot in the crease of one of the petals. It's hardly noticeable and it's mentioned only for accuracy of condtion. The vase is a stunning example of Maaronen's rare early work.

Tarmo Maaronen started working with glass in 1979 when he went to the Nuutajärvi glass factory as an apprentice.
From 1982 he worked at the vacancy of a younger blower and later an older blower, first at Unto Suominen's art glass workshop, later at Reima Maaronen's art glass workshop.
Since 1990, working and manufacturing and designing own models in small studios in Finland.
In 1995, he began work on the development of teacher work and working methods in Italy, at the IVV factory.
The actual teaching work was a 2-year project with his own class, after which he worked in the same factory for a period of nature from a few weeks to a few months almost every year, sometimes several times a year.
In 1997 he founded his own Bianco Blu studio in Fiskars and in 2008 another Bianco Blu studio in Humppila.
As an author, Maaronen owns extensive basic skills in various glassmaking techniques due to a long period of work in Nuutajärvi at an art glass workshop and thus working with various artists, such as Oiva and Inkeri Toika, Heikki Orvola, Kaj Franck, Kerttu Nurminen, Markku Salo and Björn Weckström, and numerous others. He added value to his skills after getting to know Italy.
To the Venetian glass master Italo Ballarin - The periods of teaching and working in Italy and the development of new technologies and manufacturing methods contained in them also laid the foundation for the future.
Maaronen is thus one of the great influences in the history and culture of Finnish glassblowing today, with 35 years of experience and the development of a long time working in his own studio.
In 2013-2014, Maaronen's biggest project was the design and implementation of the FCI World Dog Show 2014 award materials, which was a huge amount of work.
