This beautiful piece is a vintage Swiss modern art ceramic breakfast plate made by important artist, Ursula Schneider.
It’s not just an ordinary plate. Like most found items that I offer for sale in my shop, there’s a great person and an extraordinary story behind it.
RABIUSLA, a Swiss ceramics studio was founded by Ursula and Hermann Schneider in 1948.
Many of Ursula Schneider’s pieces are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Design Zurich and are available to view on its website.

Excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
There’s an article you can read on the internet by Toni Schneider (no relation) titled “A childhood memory, revisited”. It’s an extraordinary story about this ceramic studio in post World War II Zurich Switzerland.
