Beautiful stylized sitting black cat, designed in the 1960s by Jaroslav Ježek (1923-2002), the leading sculptor of the prestigious Royal Dux factory. His original and unmistakable style is known as "Brussels style", because at the 1958 Expo in Brussels, Jaroslav Ježek received two very prestigious awards: the gold medal for porcelain sculpture and the Grand Prix for the porcelain coffee service. His Brussels style represented Czechoslovak design on a global scale. He designed a series of porcelain stylized modernist animals.

Marked with the numbers 680 1 29. and the distinctive mark of the raised triangle of pink clay and stamped in blue ink triangle with D, Royal Dux Bohemia, "Hand Painted, Made in Czechoslovakia" around the triangle.
