Vintage Dutch cufflinks, 1950s. Barrel-shaped green aventurine quartz cabochons in 830 silver with a gold wash (silver-gilt). The bars are stamped 830 and ZII — the Dutch assay mark for second-standard silver (835 minimum), a mark system introduced in 1953.
Stones measure about 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch; the oval backs are about 7/8 inch. Total weight 7.7 grams for the pair.
Pre-owned: the gold wash is worn thin and dulled in places and there is light tarnish, as shown in the photos; the stones are glossy with their natural speckle. Please view all photos as part of the description.
